WHERE WERE YOU ON 9-11?

Sept 11Where were you on 9-11? most people know exactly where they were on that horrendous day.  I will never forget watching in horror as the planes crashed into our beautiful twin towers. I will never forget the people I saw more terrified to stay in that building and choosing to jump to their deaths instead. I will never forget the sight of those heroes carrying Father Michael Judge’s lifeless body out of that burning building.

I remember my parish being packed with people praying and crying. I remember this one woman who came for prayer and as she sobbed she shared her tale. The tale of how she lost her husband, a police officer that died saving others in that building. He left her with a small child and pregnant. My heart broke comforting her.

I’ve heard so many heroic stories, survival stories and destructive stories as I’m sure you have too. This day of September 11th is almost impossible to not remember and to pray. Pray for those who have become angels from that day. For their families that were left to carry on without them. For our future leaders around the world to learn to live in peace and for the radicals that perform such horrendous crimes against humanity in the name of Christianity. We can learn to live in peace and it begins with prayer. Prayer can change hearts let us begin there.
