THINKING ABOUT WHAT TO DO FOR LENT?

ash_wednesday

Lent is approaching rather quickly and many are preparing, because this is an important 40 days for Christians. It’s a time to go into the desert with Jesus and reflect on what he means to you, your faith and why. It’s reflective, it’s enriching and it’s cleansing, as we focus on the areas of our lives where we fell short and begin a new. Hopefully with a deeper realization that we can’t do it without Him or at least with the understanding that we can do it better with Him. If your thinking about what to do for Lent below are some options.

For alms there is a Franciscan H2O challenge, where you give up coffee, liquor and/or soda and drink water instead. You place the cost you saved in a jar and at the end of the forty days donate the savings to a water project giving clean water to polluted areas. You can learn more at http://www.theh2oproject.org/faq.html
